IBS-3000 In-feed Belt Scale

IBS-3000 is the 3rd generation belt scale specifically engineered for the recycling industry and its unique product characteristics. It Provides "Real Time" data to man and machine. The data obtained from the IBS can not only bring production detail to operators and management but can be used to automatically adjust the system components such as the screen adjustments, air classifier, belt speed, etc.

Description:

The IBS-3000 is a custom engineered, inbound material, weighing system. The scale unit itself is fitted into a typical pre-sort conveyor of an MRF. The raw data compiled from the scale unit is transferred via high-speed "field buss" to the controller (PLC) of the plant. That data is articulated by the PLC to provided valuable production detail to all forms of Touch Panels, large LED display Units, Microsoft application, office LAN's and reporting systems.

The belt scale unit has been "co-engineered" with Siemens Milltonics, the worlds leading manufacturer of weighing technology. The scale has been custom engineered to meet the unique characteristics of recyclable material, as applied to the MRF process. Even more specifically, "Single Stream" curbside recyclable materials.

The IBS helps maximize the use of recyclable materials, control inventories, and aid in the manufacturing of a consistent product. The IBS belt scale requires minimal installation down time, and requires little maintenance. It produces repeatable, accurate results. It is a compact, rugged unit developed from use in mobile crushers and aggregate screening plants.

Operating with a microprocessor-based integrators, the IBS provides indication of flow rate, total weight, belt load, and belt speed of bulk solids materials on a belt conveyor.

The IBS has a weighbridge structure, supported on load cells. An electronic integrator connects to a belt speed sensor and the load cells. Raw data is transferred to a high-speed "industrial standard" communication network called Profibus. The Profibus network now provides seamless "2 way" communication with any other device connected to the network.

The belt scale unit shows minimal hysteresis, and superior linearity. and ignores side loading. Load cell overload protection is a feature of the belt scale design. With use of approved intrinsically safe barrier strips, all belt scales can be used in hazardous locations.
